VERNON, B.C. -- Brent Wold scored twice, including the winner 8:37 into overtime as the Dauphin Kings edged the Carleton Place Canadians 4-3 Sunday in preliminary round action at the RBC Cup national Junior-A hockey championship.
Jesse Bernard had two goals for the Kings (2-0-0), while Dylan Butler also scored.
Stephen Cooney, Vinny Post and Stephen Baylis scored for the Canadians (1-1-0).
Dauphin's goaltender Michael Stiliadis stopped 31 shots for the win. Carleton Place's Guillaume Therien made 31 saves in defeat.
Earlier, Andreas Tsogkas scored a goal and assisted on two more as the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots picked up their first win of the tournament after downing the Yorkton Terriers 5-1.
Michael Prapavessis had a goal and an assist, and Nathan Feric, Ryall Ledyard and Rory Bell also scored for Toronto Lakeshore (1-1-0).
Tayler Thompson had the lone goal for Yorkton (0-1-0).
Patriots goalie Evan Buitenhuis made 22 saves for the win, while Terriers goaltender Kale Thomson stopped 27 shots in the losing effort.
