The Montreal Canadiens defeated the Colorado Avalanche 4-3, as Max Pacioretty scored the go-ahead goal late in the third period to seal the deal at the Pepsi Centre in Denver. 

The goal was his twelfth of the season and his second game-winner of the year.  P.K. Subban and Andrei Markov also led the way each scoring a goal and adding an assist.

The Canadiens got on the board first on Jiri Sekac's fourth goal of the season.

The Avalanche tied the game in the last minute of the first on a tally by Daniel Briere against his former team for his sixth of the year.

Ryan O'Reilly gave Colorado a 2-1 lead in the first minute of the second period with his fourth of the year. 

Markov scored a power-play goal to tie the game at two which was his third of the season.

Tyson Barrie put the Avalanche ahead 3-2 by scoring his third of the season on a four-on-one midway through the second period. 

Subban tied the game at three with his sixth marker of the year late in the second frame.

Montreal is now 8-4-1 as the visiting team this season and will continue their four-game road trip in Minnesota against the Wild on Wednesday.
