Vancouver, BC (SportsNetwork.com) - The Vancouver Canucks have agreed to terms on a two-year contract with goaltender Jacob Markstrom, preventing the restricted free agent from testing the market.

Acquired from Florida in the in-season deal that sent four-time All-Star netminder Roberto Luongo to the Panthers in March of 2014, Markstrom spent most of last season with Vancouver's AHL affiliate in San Antonio. The Canucks recently cleared the way for the 25-year-old to serve as Ryan Miller's backup, however, by trading goaltender Eddie Lack to Carolina during last weekend's NHL Draft.

Over 50 career NHL games with the Panthers and Canucks, Markstrom has posted a 13-28-5 record and a 3.19 goals-against average.

The Canucks also announced the signing of fellow restricted free agent Linden Vey on Monday. The 23-year-old forward recorded 10 goals and 14 assists over 75 games as a rookie in 2014-15.
