With many top-level rinks competing in Las Vegas at the Continental Cup and others preparing for their respected Scotties playdowns, it was another quiet weekend on the World Curling Tour and Curling Champions Tour.

Silvana Tirinzoni of Switzerland added to her solid 2015-16 season, winning a second consecutive event on the CCT this past weekend. Skip Tirinzoni alongside third Manuela Siegrist, second Esther Neuenschwander and lead Marlene Albrecht defeated Sweden’s Margaretha Sigfridsson in the final, 8-2. The foursome won the International Bernese Ladies Cup last week in their home country and took the inaugural Tour Challenge on the Grand Slam circuit earlier this year.

Team Tirinzoni went a perfect 8-0 over the four-day event and topped countrywomen Isabelle Maillard, 8-2, in the quarters and Russia’s Anna Sidorova, 7-3, in the semifinals.

The 25-rink field featured predominantly European rinks (no Canadian teams) including the likes of Binia Feltscher of Switzerland (2-3, failed to make playoffs) and Korea’s EunJung Kim (lost in quarters).

Team Tirinzoni will remain in the top five on the WCT money list.
