Bears hire Alouettes' Trestman as new head coach
The Bears hired Montreal Alouettes coach Marc Trestman on Wednesday to replace the fired Lovie Smith, hoping he can get the most out of quarterback Jay Cutler and make Chicago a playoff team on a consistent basis. It's the first head coaching job in the NFL for Trestman, who spent the past five seasons coaching the CFL's Alouettes and led them to two Grey Cup titles. Full Story.(Photo: The Canadian Press)

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats re-signed veteran centre Marwan Hage and released backup quarterback Quinton Porter on Tuesday. The 31-year-old Hage, who has spent nine seasons in Hamilton, was scheduled to become a free agent next month. Porter spent five seasons with Hamilton. Full Story.

New GM Ed Hervey continues to lock up talent for the Edmonton Eskimos, the latest being DE Marcus Howard. CFL on TSN analyst Dave Naylor reports Howard has agreed to terms to remain in Edmonton. Terms of the deal were not immediately available. Full Story.
