Chad Johnson's signing with the Montreal Alouettes capped a month long period of speculation; CFL fans wondering if one of the most notorious receivers in recent memory would actually sign in the league, or if he was just having some fun on Twitter. Guiding Force

The Saskatchewan Roughriders rewarded quarterback Darian Durant on Wednesday. The CFL club signed Durant to a multi-year contract extension after he guided the Riders to a Grey Cup title last year, just the fourth in club history. Durant, 31, has spent his entire eight-year CFL career with the Riders. Full Story.

Back Out West?

The B.C. Lions are in talks with former Lion Khalif Mitchell about a possible return to Vancouver. The defensive tackle was released by the Toronto Argonauts in March to pursue NFL opportunities. Mitchell, who spent three seasons with the Lions, was acquired by the Argonauts in a trade last year. Full Story.

The Grey Cup

The 101st Grey Cup: The Saskatchewan Roughriders captured their fourth Grey Cup in franchise history, and the first on their home field, with a 45-23 blowout of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Kory Sheets had a record-setting day, rushing for a Grey Cup record 192 yards on 19 carries, breaking the mark of 169 set by Edmonton's Johnny Bright in 1956.
