CFL Top Free Agents - Non-Imports

Non-Imports | Imports | NFL Bound?

Marc Beswick
Marc Beswick 2013 Team: Hamilton Tiger-Cats
2014 Team: Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Pos: LB/ST Age: 31 Exp: 6
Notes: Beswick's value isn't at linebacker, where he's a backup at best, but rather on special teams, where he's one of the league's best. The veteran Tiger-Cat was named the East Division nominee for Most Outstanding Special Teams Player after racking up 24 tackles and scoring a touchdown on a fake field goal play.
Josh Bourke
Josh Bourke 2013 Team: Montreal Alouettes
2014 Team: Montreal Alouettes
Pos: T Age: 31 Exp: 7
Notes: The two-time CFL All-Star and former Most Outstanding Lineman isn't just a great non-import talent, but one that plays a typically import position - offensive tackle - at a very high level.
Shea Emry
Shea Emry 2013 Team: Montreal Alouettes
2014 Team: Toronto Argonauts
Pos: LB Age: 27 Exp: 6
Notes: Emry hit the open market one season too late after his monstrous 2012 when he was named the East Division's nominee for both Most Outstanding Canadian and Most Outstanding Defensive Player. Still, the 27-year-old is a solid Canadian starter.
Ted Laurent
Ted Laurent 2013 Team: Edmonton Eskimos
2014 Team: Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Pos: DT Age: 26 Exp: 3
Notes: Like Emry, Laurent would have benefited from hitting free agency a year sooner, but the former West Division All-Star and team nominee for Most Outstanding Canadian, but the Mississippi product has proven himself an effective Canadian starter in his relatively short career thus far.
Dimitri Tsoumpas
Dimitri Tsoumpas 2013 Team: Calgary Stampeders
2014 Team: Retired
Pos: RG Age: 28 Exp: 6
Notes: The three-time All-Star and team nominee for Most Outstanding Lineman, Canadian, and Rookie throughout his career with Calgary played in only six games due to injury in 2013. But any team willing to take a chance on him will be getting a solid Canadian starter with plenty years still to give.
