Henry Burris
Henry Burris 2013 Team: Hamilton Tiger-Cats
2014 Team: Ottawa Redblacks
Pos: QB Age: 38 Exp: 15
Notes: The veteran QB doesn't have many years left to offer the Redblacks, but he's still one of top nine passers north of the border and worthy of being a starter. The future Hall of Famer has led the league in passing the past two seasons and could be a strong bridge QB and mentor to younger players, if not more.
Zach Collaros
Zach Collaros 2013 Team: Toronto Argonauts
2014 Team: Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Pos: QB Age: 25 Exp: 2
Notes: Collaros proved he's a starter in this league when filling in for an injured Ricky Ray this season and will start the 2014 season pencilled in atop the Tiger-Cats' depth chart. Collaros was nearly a Most Outstanding Player nominee after throwing for 2,316 yards and 14 touchdowns to six interceptions with the Double Blue last year.
Jamall Johnson
Jamall Johnson 2013 Team: Hamilton Tiger-Cats
2014 Team: B.C. Lions
Pos: LB Age: 31 Exp: 9
Notes: Johnson had a terrific four-year stretch with the Tiger-Cats before seeing his numbers dip last season when he was asked to play MLB in Orlondo Steinhauer's defence. His time in Hamilton may be done, but a team looking to move him back to his more comfortable strong-side spot should see him produce like he did from 09-12.
Jovon Johnson
Jovon Johnson 2013 Team: Winnipeg Blue Bombers
2014 Team: Ottawa Redblacks
Pos: CB Age: 30 Exp: 7
Notes: Johnson hasn't been able to recapture his Most Outstanding Defensive Player 2011 season, but he's still a solid veteran defensive back that's proven some versatility and leadership the past two seasons. Johnson is 30-years-old, but still should have at least one contract's worth of productive play left in the tank.
Cary Koch
Cary Koch Macho Harris 2013 Team: Edmonton Eskimos
2014 Team: Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Pos: WR Age: 27 Exp: 4
Notes: Koch has been an underrated contributor in the Eskimos' receiving corps the past two years. His breakout 2013 was cut in half due to injury but he was on pace to eclipse 1,000 yards receiving and set a new career high in touchdowns with eight. Koch would have been the team's second-leading receiver, something he can be for a lot of teams in the league.
Simoni Lawrence
Simoni Lawrence Emmanuel Davis 2013 Team: Hamilton Tiger-Cats
2014 Team: Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Pos: LB Age: 24 Exp: 2
Notes: The Ticats defence struggled for the better part of the past few seasons until it continuously improved late in the year, helping Hamilton reach the Grey Cup. A big reason for the improvement was Lawrence, who finished with 52 tackles, one sack, and three interceptions; good enough for a shot in the NFL.
Robert McCune
Robert McCune 2013 Team: Toronto Argonauts
2014 Team:
Pos: LB Age: 33 Exp: 4
Notes: McCune has put together a very solid two-year run with the Argonauts. He's led the team in tackles over that time, been named an East Division All-Star, and helped secure a Grey Cup win in 2012. McCune followed defensive coordinator Chris Jones from Calgary to Toronto two years ago, will he follow him again - this time to Edmonton where Jones is head coach?
Patrick Watkins
Patrik Watkins 2013 Team: Toronto Argonauts
2014 Team: Edmonton Eskimos
Pos: DB Age: 31 Exp: 2
Notes: Watkins' two seasons in the CFL with the Argonauts have culminated in two CFL All-Star selections. The 31-year-old was older than some on the open market but he's proven to be a high-end performer and can offer a lot to a team with Grey Cup aspirations. His 10 interceptions are the most in the league the past two years.
Keron Williams
Keron Williams 2013 Team: B.C. Lions
2014 Team:
Pos: DE Age: 29 Exp: 8
Notes: Williams' numbers were down some last season, recording just four sacks as the Lions struggled in the West Division for the first time in several seasons. But the pass rusher is still on the right side of 30 and has hit double-digit sack totals as recent as 2011 and 2012. The UMass product has played eight years in the league as well, so there is little Williams hasn't seen north of the border.
Drew Willy
Drew Willy 2013 Team: Saskatchewan Roughriders
2014 Team: Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Pos: QB Age: 27 Exp: 2
Notes: Willy was just the second most wanted backup QB on the market, but will likely get a chance to start with the Blue Bombers. Willy showed enough when replacing an injured Darian Durant last season to create some intrigue heading into next season. The 27-year-old has 1,182 yards and a 9:5 touchdown to interception ratio in two years of spot duty in Saskatchewan.
