The Argonauts safety Jermaine Gabriel has extended his contract with the team through 2015. Gabriel played 17 games over two seasons at Bishop's University from 2009 to 2010. He went on to play for the Calgary Colts of the CJFL where he was named the 2012 Prairie Conference MVP and recorded 28 tackles and four interceptions. - Team Release

Chad Owens did not take part in Monday's walk-through practice and was sporting a walking boot on the left foot. Owens will have an MRI later Monday on the foot. In other injury news, Canadian defensive back Matt Black will miss the next six weeks for Toronto with a fractured forearm while wide receiver Jason Barnes is also slated to have an MRI on his knee later Monday. - TSN
