The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have added another quarterback.
The club announced on Wednesday that they signed import Quinton Porter.
"Quinton has the skill set to become a very successful quarterback in the CFL. He's a big guy who runs well and has a great arm," said general manager Bob O'Billovich. "He had an impressive workout with us earlier this year and we look forward to seeing what he can do in training camp later this month."
Porter, a 6-5, 228-pound native of Portland, Maine made NFL stops with the Houston Texans and Carolina Panthers after a four-year collegiate career at Boston College.
The 25-year-old completed 290 of 484 pass attempts for 3,203 yards, 23 touchdowns and 19 interceptions in 28 games with the Eagles.
His 3,203 career passing yards are the 10th most all-time in school history while his 63.6 percent completion rate (136-of-214) in 2005 is the third highest single-season completion percentage in school history.
