TORONTO - The Toronto Argonauts have lost another running back.
A CFL source requesting anonymity told The Canadian Press late Friday night that second-year player Andre Durie suffered a broken thumb in Toronto's 34-34 exhibition tie Thursday night in Montreal against the Alouettes. The source added Durie is expected to miss four-to-six weeks as a result of the injury.
Durie is the second Argos running back to go down to injury in as many weeks.
Last week, Tyler Ebell suffered a season-ending Achilles tendon injury during a training camp practice. He had surgery and is expected to require at least 10 months to recover.
The Argos returned to Toronto on Friday and did not provide a medical update on Durie's condition. The club is expected to make the formal announcement Saturday when it returns to practice at the Erindale campus of the University of Toronto in Mississauga, Ont.
