The Saskatchewan Roughriders re-signed non-import defensive back Leron Mitchell to a two-year plus an option contract on Thursday.

Financial details of the contract were not released.

''We are very happy to sign Leron,'' head coach Ken Miller said. ''He has exceptional football skills and untapped potential. We look forward to seeing what he can do this season.''

Mitchell joined the Roughriders in June, 2008 after being acquired in a trade from Toronto. The Western Ontario product dressed in the first two games for the Riders before suffering a broken leg and missing the remainder of the season.

Mitchell was originally drafted by the Argonauts in the second round (12th overall) in the 2006 Canadian Draft.
