The Montreal Alouettes signed defensive back Jerald Brown to a one-year contract, plus an option, on Tuesday.
The Washington, DC, native is expected to join the team when training camp opens on June 7.
Brown, 28, is a five-year veteran of the Arena Football League where he played with the New York Dragons, Arizona Rattlers, Columbus Destroyers and Kansas City Brigade. He recorded 232 career tackles, adding 248 yards and three touchdowns on 26 interception returns.
Brown was named the 2006 AFL Defensive Player of the Year after leading the league with 11 interceptions and 133 interception-return yards.
