The Saskatchewan Roughriders and Hamilton Tiger-Cats got a head start on potential draft day dealings on Friday by consummating a trade.

The Riders sent non-import linebacker Yannick Carter, import receiver Brandon Myles and Saskatchewan's 3rd round pick (22nd overall) in Saturday's 2009 CFL Canadian Draft in exchange for non-import defensive back Sasha Glavic and Hamilton's third round pick (17th overall).

"Yannick is an excellent special teams player and adds another quality Canadian to our roster while Brandon is a talented receiver who will compete for a spot in training camp," said Ticats' general manager Bob O'Billovich in a statement.

Carter spent the past two seasons with the Roughriders after being selected in the third round, 20th overall, of the 2007 CFL Canadian Draft.  Miles signed with the Riders as a free agent on April 17th.

Glavic dressed in 10 games last season for the Tabbies, picking up 13 special teams tackles.

The Ticats also announced the release of import running back Andre Callender.
