Grey Cup festival organizers announce musical line up

With the Labour Day games now in the books, focus shifts towards the CFL playoff races, as teams try to position themselves for a run at a 2009 Grey Cup Championship.

Festivities for Canadian football's biggest celebration are now just under three months away and on Tuesday, details of the musical line up were released.

Scotiabank Gala Concert - Saddledome - Saturday, November 28

The Scotiabank Gala Concert will feature a cross section of award winning Canadian artists from coast to coast leading a celebration of Canadian football. Sophie Milman, The Canadian Tenors, Divine Brown, and George Canyon will take the stage before Great Big Sea headline the final bill of the concert.

Molson Canadian Quick Six Saloon - Telus Convention Centre - November 27 to 29

The headquarters for Calgary's Party. The Molson Canadian Quick Six Saloon features some of Canada's most recognizable and up-and-coming musical talents. Friday, November 27th, Econoline Crush and 54-40 will take the stage. Saturday, November 28th, Aaron Pritchett, Alberta's Gord Bamford and One More Girl will perform.

Gibson's Finest CFL Player Awards - Telus Convention Centre - November 26

The Gibson's Finest CFL Player Awards will occur on Thursday, November 26th whereby awards will be presented to players and management who through on field performance excellence and off field community achievements best represent the Canadian Football League.

"As a music fan I couldn't be happier with the line up chosen for this year's festival entertainment," said Greg Albrecht, President of the 2009 Grey Cup Festival. "With the calibre and cross section of musical talent just announced, we will have something for everyone in November, and it will truly be Canada's Game and Calgary's party!"
