In the end, nothing could stop the Darian Durant Express.
The Riders QB's improbable two-point convert against the Montreal Alouettes was voted as the CFL Play of the Year and the inaugural champion of TSN.ca's Play of the Year Showdown.
"It is a great accomplishment and I appreciate everyone that voted for me," Durant told TSN.ca.
In the Finals, Durant earned over 63% of the vote and easily dispatched Jovon Johnson and his amazing punt return for a TD against the Als. In fact, Durant proved unstoppable throughout the entire POY Showdown, never earning less that 60% of the vote, including a convincing win over Jamie Boreham in an all-Rider Semi-Final.
Durant's win helped him earn the nickname "Mr. TPC" (or Mr. Two-Point Convert) from the CFL on TSN's Matt Dunigan.
"It's always in my nature to keep fighting and never give up on a play. I kept pumping and churning and I was able to find one of my receivers in the end zone."
"That play happened against Montreal, hopefully I can make three or four plays of that magnitude this Sunday."
