The Rouge: What is your CFL trade deadline day wish list?

There is no bigger day at TSN.ca than Trade Deadline Day in the NHL. Some teams decide they are buyers and throw caution to the wind in an effort to load up and win the Stanley Cup. Other teams realize this won't be their year and sell off current assets for prospects and draft picks. There are few teams in between so it becomes a very active day every year.

But in the CFL, and football in general, big trades are made as often as Anthony Calvillo makes bad decisions in the pocket; that is not very often and there are a number of reasons why.

Unlike any other sport, football is a game of playbooks and schemes which makes it difficult for a new player to step in and have an immediate impact. Another reason is the fact that almost every CFL team has a shot at making the playoffs before the deadline arrives so the line between buyers and sellers is not so well-defined. And then there is the salary cap which leaves teams with very little wiggle room to add players late in the season.

So while the chances of a blockbuster deal being consummated before Wednesday's CFL trade deadline are slim, we dare to dream here at The Rouge. We would like to know what you think your team needs to get over the hump and win this year's Grey Cup. If your team has a legitimate shot to win it all, why not go for broke and bring in that one extra piece, no matter the cost. Maybe your team needs to make a move just to get into the playoffs and maybe go on a magical run to the title. What is your deadline day wish list?

Maybe it's that legitimate deep threat that can give the quarterback another weapon and, at the same time, create some room for the running game. Or perhaps it's a shutdown defensive back, who can take away the opposition's most dangerous player and force that crucial turnover.

Does your team need a boost in the kicking game, just in case you find yourself with that 50-yarder with seconds left on the clock? Or what about some veteran presence in the locker-room; someone who's been there, done that and can lead the team through the ups and downs of a playoff drive.

So what does your team need to make them favourites to win this year's Grey Cup? Or what addition can be made to get them into the playoffs and present that opportunity to make a Cinderella run for the title?
