The Montreal Alouettes signed non-import kicker Sandro DeAngelis, less than a week after he was released by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

DeAngelis, a five-time West Division all-star, is coming off a disappointing season in Hamilton - his first with the Ticats - where he connected on only 32 of his 42 field goal attempts for a career low 76.2 per cent.

The 30-year-old will compete for the starting job with Sean Whyte, whom the Alouettes acquired in a draft day trade with the BC Lions.
