TORONTO -- Hamilton's Henry Burris has been named the CFL's offensive player of the week after outduelling Anthony Calvillo in a matchup of top-tier quarterbacks.

Burris threw for 326 yards and five touchdowns in the Tiger-Cats' 41-28 win over the Montreal Alouettes on the weekend as Hamilton got a crucial win. The Ticats are 5-8, third in the CFL East and tied with potential crossover team Edmonton.

Elsewhere, Montreal kick-returner Trent Guy won and B.C. linebacker Adam Bighill both won their second consecutive awards, while Calgary running back Jon Cornish picked up his sixth top Canadian honour.

Bighill registered a club-record 13 tackles in the Lions' 27-21 loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders to take defensive player honours. Guy registered 125 yards on six kick returns and added another 65 yards on four punt returns against Hamilton to win the special teams award.

Cornish, from New Westminster, B.C., rushed for 180 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries and added 12 yards on three receptions in the Stampeders' 39-15 win over Edmonton. He became the eighth Canadian player in CFL history to rush for 1,000 yards in a season.
