Free agent Anwar Stewart is headed back to the CFL with the Calgary Stampeders.

According to the Montreal Gazette, the former Alouettes rush end is expected to sign with the Stampeders on Tuesday.

Stewart, who was released by the Alouettes in the off-season, joins a defensive unit that has been waiting for fellow defensive end Stevie Baggs to get healthy.

Baggs, who suffered a pulled quadriceps muscle at training camp with the Baltimore Ravens before signing with the Stampeders last month, has yet to appear in a game this season.
