The Edmonton Eskimos offence received good news on Tuesday, learning that running back Hugh Charles is medically cleared and available for Sunday's Eastern Semi-Final game in Toronto.

Charles missed the last two games due to a right knee injury suffered in a Week 17 loss to the B.C. Lions. On Monday, he declared himself 100 per cent ready and doctors confirmed his diagnosis the following day.

Following Charles' injury, the Eskimos re-signed running back Cory Boyd as a precautionary move.

Charles has been one of Edmonton's top offensive players this season. In 16 games, he has eight touchdowns, 522 passing yards and finished fifth in the league in rushing with 887 yards.

The Eskimos earned the cross-over playoff spot with their 7-11 record that was one game better than both Hamilton and Winnipeg.
