Add Armond Armstead to the list of players granted an early release to pursue opportunities south of the border.
The Toronto Argonauts released the DT on Friday, and it is expected they made the move to help facilitate Armstead catching on with an NFL club. According to reports, there was a mutual agreement between team and player that should an NFL opportunity arise, a release would be granted.
Armstead led the Argos with six sacks in his rookie season, helping Toronto win the 100th Grey Cup. He was the team nominee for Most Outstanding Rookie.
