Stampeders sign two, release McCoy to sign with NFL's Eagles

The Calgary Stampeders announced the signing of veteran import receiver Terence Jeffers-Harris and rookie linebacker Demetri Stewart, as well as the early release of defensive lineman Chris McCoy - eligible for free agency Feb. 15 - in order to allow him to sign with the Philadelphia Eagles of the NFL.

Jeffers-Harris has 23 games of CFL experience over three seasons, having spent time with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Saskatchewan Roughriders. He has 83 receptions for 1,012 yards and seven touchdowns over that span.

Stewart joins the team after completing his career at Northern Michigan University.

McCoy completed his second season with the Stampeders, racking up 17 tackles and three sacks.
