The Hamilton Tiger-Cats came to terms on contract extensions with two starters from last year's club on the eve of free agency.

Left tackle Brian Simmons and defensive Bo Smith, both slated to become free agents on Friday, re-signed with the team, committing to Hamilton through the 2015 season.

Simmons has been with the Tiger-Cats for two seasons, and started all 18 games at left tackle last year. The 27-year-old started 10 games with Hamilton as a rookie.

Smith, a five-year CFL veteran, has recorded 163 tackles and six interceptions in his career, all with the Ticats. In eight games last year, the 29-year-old picked up 24 tackles and an interception.
