Former Winnipeg Blue Bombers defensive lineman Jason Vega will be giving the NFL a try next season.

Vega, a native of Brockton, Mass. who played college football at Northeastern, signed with the New England Patriots on Tuesday.

Vega couldn't officially sign with the Patriots until he became a free agent last Friday.
