HAMILTON, Ont. -- The Hamilton Tiger-Cats' wait for Frederic Plesius is over.

The CFL club signed the Laval Rouge et Or linebacker to a deal through the 2015 season Monday.

Hamilton selected the six-foot-one, 245-pound native of Lennoxville, Que., in the second round, 10th overall, in the 2012 CFL draft.

Plesius played four seasons at Laval after transferring from Baylor, registering 123.5 tackles, 4.5 quarterback sacks and five interceptions in 31 games.

He captured the President's Trophy last season as Canadian university football's top defensive player and helped Laval win the Vanier Cup.
