Former BC Lions defensive coordinator Rich Stubler met with new Winnipeg Blue Bombers head coach Mike O'Shea on Thursday to discuss the team's vacant DC position.

No agreement has been reached on Stubler actually taking over as head of the Blue Bombers defence and he is also scheduled to meet with the Calgary Stampeders on Tuesday.

Stubler spent two years with the Lions in his latest stint with the team; he has also served as defensive co-ordinator for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Edmonton Eskimos, Toronto Argonauts and previously with the Lions during his time in the CFL.

He served as head coach of the Argonauts in 2008, but was fired before completing his first season at the helm.
