Cornerback Joe Burnett and running back Hugh Charles will remain in Green and Gold through 2015 after the pair of imports inked contract extensions with the Edmonton Eskimos.
Since joining the Eskimos, Burnett recorded 104 defensive tackles, three special teams tackles, seven interceptions for two touchdowns and a fumble recovery for a touchdown. He also returned 39 kickoffs for 789 yards and 85 punts for 731 yards.
During his rookie season in 2012, Burnett recorded a team-leading seven knockdowns and league-leading six interceptions. Charles was traded to Edmonton from Saskatchewan on Oct. 12, 2011 in exchange for a conditional selection in the 2014 CFL Canadian Draft. Since joining the Esks, he had 290 carries for 1,527 yards and nine touchdowns; 59 receptions for 775 yards and three touchdowns; and 25 kickoff returns for 559 yards.
