Cornerback Jovon Johnson will not be returning to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

The 2011 CFL Most Outstanding Defensive Player tweeted on Wednesday that he had received a voicemail from the club informing the pending free agent that they were not making him an offer.

Johnson, 30, has spent the last six seasons with the Bombers after one season with the Saskatchewan Roughriders mostly spent on the practice roster.

A two-time CFL All-Star out of Iowa, Johnson officially becomes a free agent at noon on Tuesday.
