The Hamilton Tiger-Cats released wide receiver Onrea Jones, linebacker Brandon Isaac, offensive lineman Cody Husband and quarterback Tyler Tettleton on Friday.

Sources told TSN's Matthew Scianitti that Jones' release is a result of depth of receiver and wanting to give Jones a chance to find a new place to play.

Jones hauled in 74 passes for 969 yards and eight touchdowns over two seasons with the Tiger-Cats.

Sources also told TSN that Isaac's release is due to not having the tools to fit into the schemes the Tiger-Cats plan to employ this season.

"Half his problem is he doesn't recognize that," one source said.

Isaac signed with the Tiger-Cats in July 2013, he has 127 tackles through five career CFL seasons with the Tiger-Cats, Toronto Argonauts and Calgary Stampeders.

Husband signed with the Tiger-Cats in March, 2011 and appeared in 24 career games.

Also, the Tiger-Cats signed linebacker Kendrick Causey, defensive backs Damien Jackson and Michael Ricks, and defensive lineman Brandon Thurmond.
