OTTAWA -- The Ottawa Redblacks have signed defensive back Antoine Pruneau, the fourth overall pick in the 2014 CFL draft.

The 24-year-old Pruneau played his CIS football with the Montreal Carabins. The six-foot, 200-pound Montreal native had 41 tackles, 3.5 sacks, one interception and two forced fumbles in eight games last season.

Pruneau also added 10 kickoff returns for 259 yards and one touchdown, and had a missed field goal return of 119 yards and a touchdown.

"Antoine runs a 4.3 in the 40 (meters) and those guys are hard to find at any level of football - major NCAA, CIS, CFL and even the NFL," Redblacks general manager Marcel Desjardins said in a statement Wednesday.

The Redblacks signed four other draftees: offensive lineman Nolan MacMillan, defensive end Connor Williams, receiver Scott Macdonell and defensive lineman Vincent Desloges.
