The Saskatchewan Roughriders added international running back Hugh Charles to their practice roster on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old was released by the Edmonton Eskimos over the weekend.

Charles compiled 605 yards rushing, including three touchdowns as Edmonton's starting running back in 2013. He also had 202 yards receiving with one touchdown.

This is the second stint for the Colorado product in Saskatchewan after originally signing with the club ahead of the 2008 season. The Roughriders traded Charles to the Eskimos in October 2011.

The American has 2084 yards rushing for 15 touchdowns while adding 995 yards receiving for six touchdowns in 54 career games with the Roughriders and Eskimos.
