The Saskatchewan Roughriders added some Canadian content to their roster on Tuesday, signing running back Jerome Messam to a contract.
The Montreal Alouettes released the Toronto native during training camp last month.
"Probably the longest two weeks of my life but @sskroughriders came and got me. #Thankful #Blessed #RiderNation," said Messam on Twitter.
In 2013, Messam recorded 565 yards rushing with a pair of touchdowns with the Alouettes.
Messam, 29, won the CFL Most Outstanding Canadian award in 2011 with the Edmonton Eskimos.
