Jon Cornish appears close to returning from a concussion that forced him to miss last week's win over the Toronto Argonauts.

According to several reports, Cornish will return to practice this week as the Calgary Stampeders prepare to host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Friday.

Last year's Most Outstanding Player was knocked out of the Stampeders' Week 1 win over the Montreal Alouettes by a Kyries Hebert hit that netted the linebacker a league fine.

With the benefit of a Week 2 bye, Cornish has only missed one game so far. Backup Matt Walter filled in against the Argos, rushing for 46 yards on 10 carries.

In other injury related news, Stamps head coach John Hufnagel told reporters Keon Raymond and Deron Mayo each incurred leg injuries this past week. Raymond, Hufnagel said, is questionable against the Tiger-Cats while Mayo is doubtful.
