CFL fines three players for their actions in Week 4

The Canadian Football League slapped three players with fines on Wednesday following their actions in Week 4.

Ottawa Redblacks fullback Patrick Lavoie was fined for a late hit in which he led with his helmet on a punt return during Friday's game against the Toronto Argonauts.

Edmonton Eskimo defensive end Elie Ngoyi was also fined for punching an opponent during Thursday's game against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

As well, BC Lions defensive end Khreem Smith was punished for his participation in a pregame altercation with an opposing player prior to Saturday's game against the Montreal Alouettes.

The amounts of the fines were not disclosed.
