The BC Lions were without defensive lineman Jabar Westerman in their win over the Calgary Stampeders this weekend after the 25-year-old was involved in an altercation at a nightclub.
According to a report from the Vancouver Province, Westerman was charged with common assault in connection to an incident in late June.
“He was fined. We absorbed his loss and we had to pay him,” general manager Wally Buono told the Province. “This is a bad decision and bad behavior.”
Westerman didn't play against the Stampeders but remained on the 46-man roster.
