The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have traded defensive back Alex Suber to the Toronto Argonauts in exchange for defensive lineman Thaddeus Gibson.

Gibson has appeared in five games this season for the Argonauts and recorded six tackles, one sack and one interception.

"Thaddeus has professional football experience on both sides of the border, has shown great promise when he's had opportunities to get in the lineup, and will add depth to our defensive line immediately," said Blue Bombers general manager Kyle Walters.

Suber has been a member of the Blue Bombers since 2010 and has not appeared in a game with the team this season.

He has three career interceptions and made a career high 61 tackles for the Blue Bombers during the 2012 season.
