The Winnipeg Blue Bombers added speedy import receiver Travis Shelton to their roster on Tuesday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

''Travis has exceptional speed that is suited for the Canadian Football League. We look forward to having him in our training camp and watching him compete for a roster spot with the 2010 Blue Bombers,'' Vice-President and General Manager Joe Mack said.

The 25-year-old Shelton left Temple University as the school's all-time leader in kick return yards with 2,507, breaking the previous record by nearly 1,000 yards. In 2008, he played in 11 games and finished his career with 64 catches for 784 yards and four touchdowns.

Known for his blazing speed, Shelton earned second-team All-Mid-American Conference honours as a kickoff returner in 2008, leading the nation with a 32-yard return average while adding a 92-yard kickoff return touchdown at Kent State. Shelton signed with the Denver Broncos in April of 2009 and went through mini camp and training camp before being one of the final cuts in late August of last year.
