TORONTO -- The CFL fined Montreal Alouettes linebacker Rod Davis and Toronto Argonauts offensive lineman Chris Van Zeyl on Tuesday for separate illegal hits.

Davis was fined for a helmet-to-helmet hit on Winnipeg Blue Bombers quarterback Alex Brink during their game August 3. Davis had a hearing with CFL commissioner Mark Cohon on Monday afternoon.

Van Zeyl was penalized for an illegal chop block on Keron Williams of the B.C. Lions during a game Aug. 6.

As per CFL policy, the amounts of the fines were not disclosed.
