Every time we consider even starting to doubt him, it seems Anthony Calvillo pulls out another classic performance to remind us of his greatness.

The 40-year-old's latest gem came in Montreal's 38-25 win at Edmonton Friday night, where he threw for 327 yards and four touchdowns. Vintage Calvillo.

With that performance, we're once again reminded both of Calvillo's overall greatness and impact on the game, and not just in Canada.

It's generally accepted among football fans that great CFL players head to the Canadian Football Hall of Fame while the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio is reserved for NFLers. But should a player - a great CFLer -deserve consideration for induction into Canton?

When it's all said and done - and hopefully that isn't for another couple of years - should Calvillo, a lock for the Canadian Football Hall of Fame, also be enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame?

There are a few players with CFL experience who have their place in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but they are players who also made significant impacts in the NFL; no one whose predominant impact came in the CFL has been inducted into Canton.

Warren Moon is one of those few in the Hall with big impacts on both sides of the border. Moon won five Grey Cups with the Edmonton Eskimos before experiencing success in the NFL, most notably with the Houston Oilers. Moon's official biography in the Hall of Fame lists his CFL achievements, but shows only the logos of the four NFL teams he played on.

The question with Moon is how much of an impact did his CFL successes have on his induction? Was his NFL play alone enough to merit induction into the Hall?

And maybe Calvillo isn't the first CFLer you'd like to see inducted into Canton; perhaps Damon Allen, the man who is second to Calvillo in all-time in passing yards, or Doug Flutie, who experienced varying levels of success in both the CFL and NFL, are deserving of consideration.

But for now, let's focus on Calvillo's credentials for Canton.
