TORONTO -- Chad Simpson's big game in the Winnipeg Blue Bombers' streak-busting win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats has earned him CFL offensive player of the week honours.

Simpson had a career high 134 yards on 19 carries and added another 58 yards on four receptions as the Bombers ended a four-game losing skid with a 34-12 win over Hamilton on Friday

Bombers linebacker Henoc Muamba was named Canadian player of the week for his performance in Winnipeg's much-needed win. B.C. linebacker Adam Hill took defensive honours, while Montreal kick returner Trent Guy claimed the special teams award.

Muamba, form Mississauga, Ont., had five tackles, one sack and one forced fumble and was a thorn in the side of the Ticat offence the entire game.

Bighill registered three tackles, two sacks and one interception in the league-leading Lions' 19-18 win over Edmonton. Bighill intercepted Steven Jyles' pass at 13:50 of the third quarter and set the tone for the Lions' second-half comeback at Commonwealth Stadium.

Guy had 129 yards and a touchdown on one missed field goal return, 31 yards on two kick returns and five yards on four punt returns as the Alouettes solidified their hold on first place in the East Division with a 31-10 win over Toronto.
