Winnipeg Blue Bombers quarterback Buck Pierce has been cleared by team doctors and medical staff and will line up behind centre for Friday's game against the Toronto Argonauts (TSN and TSN Mobile TV, 7pm et/4pm pt).

Pierce, who missed the last two games with a concussion, was cleared to practice earlier in the week and took reps with the first-team offence at practice Tuesday.

"I thought he looked pretty good (at practice)," head coach Tim Burke said Tuesday. "He's just so smooth with the ball. I was pretty pleased with what I saw."

Pierce has appeared in five games this year, the last a loss to the Argos on Sept. 29 when he took a helmet-to-chin hit from linebacker Brandon Isaac and suffered a concussion. Pierce has completed 63.1 per cent of his passes for 735 yards with three TDs and three picks.

The Blue Bombers (4-11) are still making a push for the post-season and could make the playoffs if they win their final three games and the Eskimos lose its final three contests. After Friday's tilt with the Argos, the Blue Bombers visit the Tiger-Cats before closing out the regular season at home against the Alouettes.
