Matt Nichols will start at QB for the Edmonton Eskimos in their regular season finale against the Calgary Stampeders tonight.
Head coach Kavis Reed had stated earlier in the week that Kerry Joseph would get the nod but, as first reported by the Edmonton Sun, Nichols will now be the starter.
Edmonton clinched a playoff spot last night after the Hamilton Tiger-Cats lost to the Toronto Argonauts, but tonight's game isn't meaningless.
With a win and a Saskatchewan Roughriders loss on Saturday, the Eskimos would finish third in the West and the Roughriders would be the crossover team heading East to take on the Argonauts in the East Semi-Final.
Nichols was effective coming on in relief of a banged-up Joseph last week against the Montreal Alouettes, completing nine of 15 passes for 230 yards and three touchdowns.
