BC Lions backup QB Mike Reilly may be the next CFL player to sign south of the border with an NFL team.

According to a report from News 1130 in Vancouver, Lions GM Wally Buono confirmed the Jacksonville Jaguars interest in the 27-year-old signal caller.

Reilly is scheduled to become a CFL free agent February 15 and was expected to draw interest as a potential starter in the free agent market.

The Jaguars are expected to make dramatic changes to their personnel starting next week however, and GM Gene Smith is rumoured to be on the chopping block.

Reilly has spent his entire three-year CFL career in BC, serving as Travis Lulay's primary backup the past two years. In seven appearances with the Lions the Central Washington product has thrown for 694 yards and four touchdowns.

It's not known whether Buono will grant Reilly an early release so that he can attend NFL tryouts prior to February 15.
