The Steven Jyles era in Edmonton is over.

The Eskimos announced they have released the veteran quarterback, just one season after acquiring him from the Toronto Argonauts.

Perhaps most notable for being the main piece Edmonton acquired in return for Ricky Ray, Jyles played in 10 games for the Eskimos last season, throwing for 1,756 yards and six touchdowns.

The 30-year-old has spent six years in the CFL with Edmonton, Toronto, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, and Saskatchewan Roughriders. He has thrown for 7,075 career yards, 37 touchdowns, and 35 interceptions.
