The Winnipeg Blue Bombers released three players on Wednesday including import running back Chris Garrett
Garrett appeared in 11 games over four seasons with the Blue Bombers, rushing for 689 yards and four touchdowns over that span.
His best season came in 2011 where he had 92 carries for 576 yards and four scores. Garrett also helped the Blue Bombers reach the 99th Grey Cup that season, rushing for 190 yards and a touchdown in the team's Eastern Final win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
He missed all of the 2012 season with an Achilles injury and had not played in a game for the team this year.
Import defensive lineman Marquis Frazier and import defensive back David James were also relseased.
Frazier appeared in two games with the Blue Bombers after signing with the team in July, recording three tackles and one sack.
James attended training camp with the team and was signed to the practice roster earlier this month.
