The Montreal Alouettes could rival the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at quarterback if things keep going how they are.

According to a report in the Montreal Gazette, Tanner Marsh isn't practicing with the team on Wednesday and will not play Saturday against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in New Brunswick.

Marsh, who had been starting for Montreal since late August, suffered a sprained thumb against the BC Lions last week.

All indications are that Josh Neiswander will get the start for the Alouettes on Saturday.

Montreal will have just one other healthy QB for the game - third-stringer Troy Smith - as veteran Anthony Calvillo continues to recover from a concussion on the nine-game injury list.
