Rich Stubler will not be back with the BC Lions next season.

The team announced the defensive coordinator will not be offered a contract extension.

"I'm grateful for Rich's contributions to our organization as well his personal assistance over the past two seasons and on behalf of our club, I wish him the very best in the future," head coach Mike Benevides said in a team release.

Stubler, who just finished his second year with the team will be a leading candidate for the same role in Winnipeg.

The decision means the Lions will have two new coordinators for next season after mutually parting ways with offensive coordinator Jacques Chapdelaine earlier this off-season.
