OTTAWA - The Ottawa Redblacks added five new players to the roster Thursday.

They picked up CFL veterans Brandon Lang and Bo Smith on defence and three rookie wide receivers — Eric Rogers, D.J. Woods and Jason Bruce.

Lang is a defensive lineman who spent the last two seasons with the Edmonton Eskimos and Smith is a defensive back who spent five seasons with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and played with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers last season.

Rogers is out of California Lutheran and was signed by the Dallas Cowboys last May but was waived in late August during training camp. He then joined the Portland Thunder of the Arena Football League.

Woods played from 2008-2011 with the University of Cincinnati Bearcats of the Big East Conference, signed with the Tennessee Titans of the NFL in May of 2013 and was later released.

Bruce played two seasons at Troy.
