The City of Toronto wants the Argonauts to play at BMO Field.

According to a report from the Toronto Star, Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment says it's being pushed to bring the Toronto Argonauts to BMO Field.

The report states Tim Leiweke, MLSE's CEO said the city is asking for them to enter into a lease with the Argos as part of the deal to renovate BMO Field.

MLSE wants to expand BMO Field, home of Toronto FC and owned by the city, and to do so must have council approval.

The Argos meanwhile, must vacate Rogers Centre – where they currently play – by 2017.

Leiweke said MLSE has had conversations with the Argos, who are currently owned by David Braley – who also owns the CFL's BC Lions – but no deal is yet in place.
