BANGKOK - Relying on its younger players, Chelsea beat Thailand All-Stars 1-0 Saturday in a friendly at Rajamangala National Stadium.

The Premier League champion went ahead in the 12th minute through a volley by 17-year-old Dominic Solanke off a cross from Ola Aina.

Chelsea strengthened its team after the interval with John Terry, Eden Hazard and Diego Costa among the 11 changes.

The hosts almost equalized in the 67th when Sarawut Masuk's shot was blocked by Andreas Christensen. Each side had further scoring chances but neither could convert.

"It's important to have these kids play not only 5-10 minutes but the whole session," Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho said. "They have done a good job under this condition in front of 40,000 fans."

Chelsea next plays Sydney FC on Tuesday in Australia.
